Carrying capacity and the age old saying that humans are well over the capacity able withstand us on earth is something that has been engraved into our minds. Now it is becoming apparent that people are beginning to disagree with this statement, and have good reason to do so.
Its actually quite simple, the belief that humans have exceeded the available resources on earth and are heading towards a natural disaster that will drop the human population back to where it is supposed to be. Almost all scientists and other science enthusiasts agree with this, but now people are beginning to question it.
In a NY times article, one man states that this is actually all a load of bologna and that humans will never actually exceed their resources, for a simple reason at that. He believes that humans and the conditions that have sustained us have not and will never be natural. He goes on to state that humans have always created tools and technology to engineer ecosystems in which sustains populations way beyond their natural capacity.
Now that I am thinking about it, I do have some suspicion about the whole carrying capacity fiasco, and I will further research the subject.
